The club recently installed a modern audio-visual system including motorized large projection screen, mounted data projector, large plasma TV screen, surround sound speakers, lecturn and microphone, wireless microphone, DVD player, multi-stack CD player and tuner.

You will need to provide your own laptop if you are using PowerPoint presentations. All connections and leads are available.

There is no charge for the use of this equipment but it must be controlled by the appropriate staff member.

The Unicorn Club has been recently entirely rejuvenated with cutting edge integrated audio-visual facilities, magnificent new furniture, Maxwell & Williams crockery and cutlery and a five-burner gas barbecue on our licensed patio deck. We have recently installed four split system reverse cycle air conditioning units adding considerably to the comfort of patrons. The dance floor has been resurfaced and polished with appropriate disco lighting and mirror ball.

The club is fully licensed with a restricted club permit.

The Unicorn Club is an excellent venue for your 21st. Apart from its central location with much on-site parking in the school grounds, it is only a short walk from both trams and trains.

We can organise special birthday functions for you, including special catering if required. We have several caterers we can recommend for your consideration. DJs and/or live bands and/or a juke box can be arranged.

Our trained bar staff are experienced young men and women who will look after your every function need. All staff have RSA experience.

The Unicorn Club is located atop the MHSOBA south pavilion complex adjacent to the Woodfull-Miller Oval at Melbourne High School.

After 4.00pm vehicle entry is best off Claremont Street, a one-way street from Toorak Road. During school hours the Claremont Street gate is generally closed and entry to the school grounds is best from Alexandra Avenue or Chapel Street.

The Melways map reference is 2L J3. There is only a short walk from the trams in Toorak Road and the South Yarra station at the end of Yarra Street.

Limited parking is available in the school grounds adjacent to the Unicorn Club at the southern end of the oval. This is especially so during the school day. There are commercial car parks in Claremont Street (entrance 50 metres from Toorak Road) and at the Como Centre, in Chapel Street near the corner of Toorak Road. Generally parking spaces are sufficient for evening functions such as year group reunions or weekend birthdays.

The Unicorn Club is licensed, commencing at 5.00 pm on weekdays and earlier on weekends. The hours of the licence are generally through until midnight. Licence extensions can be arranged if requested and with sufficient notice (at least four weeks). The cost of this extended licence is currently $30.00 and will be charged to the hirer. An extension is needed for a weekday luncheon.

Liquor must be purchased and consumed within The Unicorn Club. It is not permissible to bring alcohol in to the club, its vicinity or elsewhere in the school grounds.

The ideal number for a formal lunch or dinner is about 80 people although we can seat formally up to 112 people. With fresh commercial linen, Maxwell & Williams crockery and cutlery and high quality commercial Moran seating for complete professional comfort the Unicorn Club looks great. The club is now air conditioned for your comfort.

Table configurations can be adaptable with either rectangular tables of 6 or 8 or circular tables for 8 to 10 or combinations of both.
